Built in 1926
The original part of the Mediterranean revival style inn was part of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers development of Venice. The front door’s ornate stucco relief trim, the massive living room fireplace, and the staircase tower are the most interesting design elements in the home.
Common areas
Lots of conversation, reading, and games take place in the inn’s open living /dining area. Quiet relaxation can be found outside near the fountain or on our deck in the shade of our magnificent Cuban Laurel tree.

Innkeepers
Jon and Lois Steketee are your hosts. Warm and energetic, they’ve created a low-key, extremely comfortable get-away inn well suited to guests that want to lose track of time. The inn is their labor of love. They lived on the property for many years before opening it as a B&B in 2000. Active in the Venice business community for three decades, they are a wealth of knowledge on things to do in the area. Their personal interests include sailing, church, golf and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jon is a past president of Venice Habitat for Humanity and an active contributor to the affiliate. |
